And so – we write for five minutes, our words tumbling out – no editing, no polishing – just flat out on a one word prompt! We gather all our beautiful thoughts here in our Five Minute Friday community and then love on each other as only we can do! Click here to learn all about it.
Home is where the Five Minute Friday community gathers so please join us at Kate Motaung’s for our Friday fun! We are always looking for new friends so come and join us. We gather Thursday evenings at about 8:30 PM EST on Twitter and you can find us using #fmfparty.
ALONE
GO…
I crave quiet and the stillness of a new morning freshly waking the horizon with its array of colors
I love the chance to walk along a garden path discovering the surprises that have been left for me that day
I love the brightness of a full moon lighting the sky with its single, bright light and…
The call of the first bird waking from its nightly slumber sounding off to mark new beginnings.
I listen to my rhythmic breathing and believe that being alone is where I am and who I am but then…
In the faintest of whispers my heartbeat is joined in a single cadence of pitter patters by the one who created me from nothing
The feeling of being alone vanishes as this whisper surrounds my being and never leaves me once throughout the day
My deep desire of being just me joins with the one who takes my hand and simply desires that I be with Him and in that moment I learn that I am never alone.
I am loved by the One who knows me, cherishes me and frees me to be me but always gently pulls me back to Him when I stray too far.
[Tweet “God promises that we He will never forsake us and we are never alone.”]
I am one person, one woman and one daughter of our loving Lord. I am never alone because I am His child and he walks with me every step of the way.
Job says…
Will you never look away from me,
or let me alone even for an instant? Job 7:19
Those of us who know God, who walk as His child and are redeemed by His grace, know that the answer is “NO”
… because God has said, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.” Hebrews 13:5
My prayer for all of us tonight is that we know deep in our hearts that God will never leave us and we are never alone.
In grace and peace,
Mary

Beautifully written. I love that you added the scripture. Thanks for sharing these words and the reminders of love.
So glad you stopped by. Adding scripture always points me back to God and where the truth comes from. Weekend blessings!
Mary,
This is just beautiful. I can really relate to the question and answer related to the scripture in Job. Lately, as I recuperate from surgery, I have many times felt alone. Usually I truly enjoy my quiet and alone time, but when it’s piled day upon day you start to wonder if anyone cares. Thank you for a touching reminder that I am NEVER alone…God is always just a whisper away!
Blessings friend,
Bev
I understand how easy it is to feel alone even though the quiet can be restoring. It is too easy at times to feel that no one cares but I know when that happens it is the enemy trying to make me feel less than I am. God will never make us feel that way which is why we know without a doubt that He will never forsake us. Thank you for being here and please know I am praying as you continue to heal and recover which can be a lonely business at times. Weekend blessings!
I like what you said, “even when we stray.” I strayed so far – a story for another time – but He pulled me back. I am so glad He did. Lovely post – your words are poetry. FMF #25
Thank you Susan for your sweet encouragement. Seeing you here always brings a smile to my face. Praying for all today that we feel God’s presence because we know without a doubt that He is near and will never leave us. Weekend blessings!
Beautiful words for my heart this morning. So thankful that even when I feel alone, I know that God is always with me.
So good to have you stop by Barbie! The FMF word prompt was perfect for me this week. I wrote words that I know I needed to hear and hopefully others did too. Hope your weekend is blessed! Love you!
I was sitting there right with you, listening to the rhythm of the song your heart was beating and I found myself holding my breath as I read. This is the exhale moment for me here, Mary, “I am loved by the One who knows me, cherishes me and frees me to be me but always gently pulls me back to Him when I stray too far.”
Thank you for this reminder… and praise the Lord we are never alone!
Blessings,
Dawn
Amen to never being alone! I love knowing that God is by my side at all times and He is always ready to do what is needed. I always love seeing you here Dawn and your words are a beautiful echo of affirmation. Weekend blessings!
This, a lovely testimony of God’s amazing presence in your life, Mary. Sitting here with you is the perfect way to start my day …
And where did the summer go, huh?
Hugs to you, dear friend.
;-}
Where did summer go??? Our weather here has been feeling more and more like fall but it is supposed to get hot again next week. Thank you for sitting here with me and really sitting with you in person would be so much better. I love knowing that you are close in spirit. Love you and have a wonderful weekend.
Such a beautiful post, Mary! And yes, we were on the same path with this prompt! Love that!! And I love this verse in Job. What a great reminder that God doesn’t leave us alone. That makes it easier for me to enjoy the alone times. Happy Friday! xoxo
Happy Friday sweet, Holly! God continues to bless me with words and to give me a beautiful community like FMF to share them with. He also shows me daily that He is with me and loves being there. Have a blessed day and weekend.
What a lovely, poetic vision! I am enchanted at the way you described this. Truly.
Thank you for blessing me with your encouragement. Love seeing you here and praying that your day and weekend are blessed.
Mary, your words touch and bless me tonight. I have been like a fitful child all month long, kicking and screaming at…nothing, really. Just kind of throwing a fit. And yet God is still here, still loving me, never giving up on me. Thank you, thank you, for reminding me of His constant goodness and presence!
Amen, Marie! God lets us have our fits but then reigns us back in right when we need it either through His words, others words or another reminder throughout our day. Glad you have had the chance to feel His presence here and love having you sit her with me for a bit. Missed you last night but sometimes that happens! Have a wonderful weekend!
Thank you for that reminder that I am never alone. I am clinging to that anchor. I’m parked in the #9 parking spot this week friend.
I love the image of clinging to an anchor because I cannot think of the word anchor anymore without thinking of God. So glad you joined me here. Sorry I missed talking to you last night. Hope your day and weekend are blessed!
Such hope-filled encouragement, Mary! Love that I can now “hear” your voice speaking these words, after the delight of meeting you at the retreat (*and* persuading you to join Voxer!) .. 🙂 Thank you, as always, for your encouragement.
I love that you can hear my “voice”. I think that is one of my biggest takeaways from the retreat. We now are able to uniquely hear each other’s voices through their words and perhaps through Voxer. We know each other to understand the heart behind the words. Thank you for being her and for being uniquely you!
