FAVORITE
GO…
Did you know you are God’s favorite? No, Really!!! God chose you even before you were born to be here at this time, right now as His child.
I was just talking with a friend the other day how we perceived who our parents favored among our siblings. Was it the oldest brother or sister or perhaps the youngest who seemed to be the favorite because the older siblings had all moved out and only he or she was left with mom and dad? At different times in our lives, our perceptions of who is the favorite might change but many times from the outside looking in, it is everyone but us.
As I grow older and gain life experiences, I am finding out that I am the favorite. God chose me and gifted me with a uniqueness that has made me the apple of His eye. He treasures everything about me because He created me in His likeness as His child. He tells me I am fearfully and wonderfully made and He shows me over and over through the beauty He created, His endless love and the beautiful grace He extends to erase my messy.
For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love 5 he predestined us for adoption to sonship through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will— 6 to the praise of his glorious grace, which he has freely given us in the One he loves. Ephesians 1:4-6
You are His favorite too. The truth above is for all of us and He adopts each of us as His favorite.
[Tweet “God chose us as His favorite son or daughter in love and in praise of His glorious grace.”]
May we all rejoice that we are God’s favorite and praise Him that He created us as His own because of His amazing love and grace.
In grace and peace,
Mary

I used to love FMF prompts… might have to start back up again.
Thanks for the reminder… so often the world wants us to think we barely matter, but it’s not true. The Creator chose us exactly how we are to be His.
Thanks for stopping over at Reading List today
Marissa
You do a great job with your book reviews and I always enjoy reading about new books. I would love to have you join us for FMF. We always have a lot of fun and the community is great. Thank you for stopping by!
Mary we are His favorites – all the same. Thanks for stopping by my blog and hey we both wrote about His favorites. I agree with you on the as we get older part. I find I am growing more and more in Him and in love with Him.
The advantage and beauty of age and experience is our deepening relationships with God and others and how we are able to continue growing those relationships. Here’s to all of us being God’s favorite!
Such beautiful truth! Good words here, Mary. I hope you had a wonderful Fourth of July. Love you, dear friend. xoxo
I had a great fourth! Family was visiting right before and actually left on the 4th but love when they are here. It looked like you had a great 4th from your pictures. Thank you for being here!
Beautifully true…we are all His favorite! The five-minute writing jam intrigues me and I may have to join. 🙂
So glad you stopped by Melanie! Thank you for helping to host #TheocentricThursday. We would love to have you come join the Five Minute Friday fun sometime. Hope your weekend was blessed.
He loves us so …
;-}
Amen! Praying that we all feel God’s amazing love in our everyday moments and cherish this gift always.
Holly and you were much on the same page this week. Great post!! I’m so thankful we all are Gods favorites. Visiting from FMF whete I’m #16 this week.
Great minds think alike!!! 🙂 There were several of us that wrote for FMF and came back to God choosing each of us as His favorites. I love how God speaks to more than one of us at the same time to share a message that is important for us to hear. Hope your weekend was blessed!
Hi Mary ,I am so grateful I am God’s favourite.
I like your reflection here.
Enjoy your weekend.
God bless
Me too! God chose each of us and designed us uniquely in His image. We are blessed. Hope your weekend has been blessed!
Hi Mary! Your post reminds me of a tee shirt I saw recently. It said: “God loves you. But I’m his favorite!” Sounds like one you should definitely have 🙂
It’s interesting to read your thought that when it comes to picking a favorite in the family, we pick anyone but ourselves. That’s so true! And I think it’s a great reminder that we don’t see ourselves very clearly, both here on earth, and in a heavenly view. We are loved and cherished by Our Lord. We are loved and cherished by our families (well, most of us are anyway!) . That should be enough for me.
Blessings to you and yours on this holiday weekend my friend,
Ceil
I love how you shared your perspective on picking a favorite in the family. I hadn’t really thought about us not seeing ourselves clearly on earth as well as heaven. But I am blessed to be loved by God as well as my family. It is certainly enough. Praying that your weekend is blessed and that your 4th of July was full of fun.
After some hard conversations with my earthly father I have been very blessed to remember that my Heavenly Father loves me no matter what. Thank you for these encouraging words.
Sometimes we need to have those heart to heart conversations with our Heavenly Father to rest firm in His amazing love for us. I am blessed you stopped by and encouraged me by just being here. Have a beautiful weekend!
I love that Ephesians verse too, Mary. We were on the same page with this prompt. I also remembered asking my parents, “Who’s your favorite kid?” “Which one of us is it?” How lovely to know that we are all God’s favorites.
#fmfparty
It is so affirming to me that God loves each of so much! It just shows that when we ask our parents who is their favorite we have learned the art of comparison way too young. With God we only need rest in His amazing love for us. Love having you here! Happy Weekend!
Beautiful Mary. 🙂
So glad you stopped by Melinda! Have a blessed weekend!
What a beautiful way to describe God’s love!
Happy 4th of July! May God bless your weekend!
What a wonderful way to describe God’s love! In my head, I understand from Scripture that we are chosen by God, but this gets at one of the implications of that status.
I am reassured in knowing that I was chosen by God. His desire for me to be His child and to follow Him throughout my life keeps me going. I appreciate you being here and I pray that your weekend is blessed.
These verses are so encouraging and full of hope! Thank you for truths laid out that remind us who and whose we are. Blessings to you. Visiting from FMF.
Hi Kelli and welcome!
I appreciate your kind words and encouragement. We are blessed to be God’s child and to know how much He loves us. Have a blessed weekend.
Mary,
Awesome thoughts. We would love for you to share this on #TheocentricThursdays. The link will be open until Monday! Hope to see you there! http://www.carrieanntripp.com/theocentricthursdays-blog-hop-week-5/
So glad to meet you here. I appreciate the invite to your linkup and did pop on over to add my post to the others. Hope our weekend is blessed.
Mary!
You, me, and Holly all had that same thought. “You are God’s favorite.”
And without reading each others’ posts first!!
Thank you, this was so good. I too was a sibling from a large family and longed to be special and favored. Once a year, on our birthday, we had that privilege.
Your post is a great reminder that EVERY day is that privilege with Christ!
“God chose us as His favorite son or daughter in love and in praise of His glorious grace.”
Thanks again for such beautiful encouragement!!
Love,
Tammy

It was so good to read similar words for FMF this week. God has a way of sharing through us the words that we need to hear as well as others need to hear. It is a privilege to belong to God and know that He chose us specifically for this time and place right now. Happy 4th of July!
Oh yeah, we are all His favorite!! Always love it when you and I are on the same page. Looked for you at the #FMFParty tonight. Hope you are having a great week!
It made my heart happy when I read your post and knew that God had led us down the same path Thursday night. I wrote it because I needed to hear it for myself but He knew others needed it too. Happy 4th and happy weekend.
I love that you and Holly took the prompt in the same direction tonight. We are ALL His favorite! What a privilege to be called sons and daughters of the Most High God!
Being God’s child is my greatest gift and blessing. Knowing that He loves me always keeps me running toward Him everyday. Happy 4th and thanks for being here Asheritah.
