And so – we write for five minutes, our words tumbling out – no editing, no polishing – just flat out on a one word prompt! We gather all our beautiful thoughts here in our Five Minute Friday community and then love on each other as only we can do! Click here to learn all about it.

WHISPER
GO…
I am a quiet girl! I treasure quiet moments, soft voices and gentle conversations. I have shied away from loud, boisterous activities most of my life, but have been known at times to be that loud, boisterous person. Mostly, it is the quiet times of my life that I have heard the whispers of truth. Â There have never been bright lights and clanging gongs to mark the important moments of life.
Truths float in like a gentle breeze through my windows and swirl around until I pause and listen carefully. The time seems to stand still until I intentionally  grab hold of the whispers that are meant just for me. These whisper moments – this fluttering of words – these God truths – come in the quiet parts of my day. I might miss what God wishes to share if I let the busy overtake the slowing down quiet that God loves to share with me.
In the whisper moments God tells me He loves me!
He shows me I am beautiful!
He tells me I am His and who I am is a reflection of Him.
He reminds me that His grace is available everyday.
He whispers that in my times of fear, He will provide courage.
He assures me that He is all I need.
It is in the whisper moments of life that I learn that I am worthy to be called child of God. It is in pausing and perfect stillness that God speaks clearly into my heart and directs me into the future with Him. It is these whispers that give me the strength to know God’s glory and share it with others.
Pass along the whispers – speak into someone’s heart today and share God’s promises!
STOP
The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing.
2 He makes me lie down in green pastures,
he leads me beside quiet waters,
3 he refreshes my soul.
He guides me along the right paths
for his name’s sake. Psalm 23: 1-3
May God’s whispers reach your heart, make a home and grow into beautiful truths that you may share with others.
Blessings,
Mary
Please find the beautiful community of brave writers here!
Mary, sorry my post is a little late, but I was really busy Friday. I know it is the best time when we do take the time to hear these whispers. Times like these make me smile and allow my heart to be open to what God’s clear message is for me. Thank you for your beautiful post as always. 🙂
So blessed you stopped by Verona! God is always right there and many times we are probably bumping right into Him and don’t know because the busy of our lives is consuming. But the quiet, whisper moments are like a beautiful gift when we pause to receive. Happy Sunday, my friend!
Hi Mary! You are so right to say that we should spread those wonderful encouragements to one another.
I also think that God speaks so clearly in the quiet, I wonder why I don’t do it more! But his words are to spur me on in love, and telling all his beautiful children that they are loved and precious…that’s perfect.
Have a great weekend!

Blessed you stopped by and shared your precious thoughts. I love how God connects people and allows them to learn so much from each other. Have a blessed weekend!
Oh, I just love your list of whispers.
My husband’s life has been full of “gongs” as his life transitions and mine has been the more quiet one. I love how we’re all different and hear God differently too at various points in our lives.
Blessings for a wonderful weekend!
Blessed you stopped by and love being in community with you. I’m so looking forward to meeting you in person very soon! 🙂
LOVE this so much! It’s in the quiet whispers that truth is revealed. Have a blessed weekend.
I love that we all hear God differently but so many people expect a loud booming voice to come from the sky and my experience had been the exact opposite. God blesses me most when I take time to be with Him and shut out the noise of life in the process. Love when you stop by friend!
Love this, Mary! Especially this reminder: “There have never been bright lights and clanging gongs to mark the important moments of life.” Oh, so true, friend! I needed this today! And also the challenge to speak into someone’s heart today and share God with them. Thank you, friend. You have a beautiful blog home here. I’ll be hanging out here with you more often! Blessings on your Friday!
Julie-I was so blessed hanging out with you Thursday at the #fmfparty. That community-those women are made better by people like you. Thank you for blessing me by stopping by here and hanging out for a bit. Hope your weekend is beautiful!
I love “whisper moments” and “God truths.” Well said. And that is a perfect scripture to tie in to this. Thanks for sharing on #FMF!
Blessed you stopped by today Holly! Thank you for the encouragement and affirmation of the scripture verse I shared. I’m not always sure about God’s word but I guess I should just let His words speak the truth. Happy weekend!
Your tweets cracked me up on the #FMFparty! I just had to check out your post! Funny – we have completely different writing voices, yet we are on the same page! Love it! I just thought it was so amazing to see how similar our posts were tonight! Inspiring to me!
I found a common theme running throughout many of the FMF posts today but you are right our perspectives and the place from where we write is so different. I agree that God uses our words and our stories in similar ways by whispering words that He wishes many voices to share at once. So glad you stopped over today and would love to see your smiling face at the next #fmfparty!!!
YES! I love this .. I am also a quiet person and in that quietness is where I found the room to heal and grow. I use to envy people who had a big loud voice to speak how they felt, but more and more I am learning my quiet thoughts are just as loud, because I can hear God in the quietness, not in the loud busy life.
Thank you for sharing …
Karen
So glad to see you here today. We all process and hear differently but it is wonderful to know that God is speaking to us all the time. The biggest trick is to stop and pause long enough to hear the whispers that are meant just for us. Happy weekend!
The “busy” can be so overwhelming (and noisy). Isn’t it great when we slow down a bit and find time to listen?
It is so good to slow down and listen. That will be me this weekend! So glad we are in community together. Happy weekend!
Yes, in the quiet is when I most often hear His truth as well. I used to have what I call “shower epiphanies” and it was because the shower was the only place I was ever alone when my kids were little!! Thanks for the encouragement to listen closely in the quiet.
I know about those shower epiphanies but more often than not it’s when I’m driving or walking-times when it is hard to record all of the whispers that are swirling around. Happy weekend!!!
“Truths float in like a gentle breeze through my windows and swirl around until I pause and listen carefully” YES!! This is just exactly how it happens for me. All the truth in the quiet time.
Thank you for sharing your words this week!! Popping over from FMF with Kate 🙂
So glad to have you here at my place Jen! Amen to quiet and amen to the truths that we are blessed with during this time. Happy weekend!
