Sweet Rest
Morning comes early most days
Sweet slumber alludes me some nights as I battle the shut eye monster
The battle that age sometimes wins and sometimes does not
The battle when handed over to Jesus always results in victory
The victory that is always found in Jesus-this His is promise to us
Jesus speaks of resting in Him – surrender your life’s struggles to Him and this will lead to sweet dreams
May we all find true rest in Jesus and enjoy sweet dreams! May He lovingly embrace our thoughts and hearts daily and provide renewal and restoration to combat life’s weariness. Praying we all find this beautiful rest!
Blessings,
Mary

Hey Mary! I haven’t been sleeping well lately, so I appreciate your words here! Tonight I’ll picture myself resting in Jesus’ arms. Thank you for that picture! God bless you in the week ahead.
I don’t like hearing your are having trouble sleeping but resting in Jesus is the answer to sweet dreams. May we all feel Jesus in our days and nights and hold onto Him as He lovingly holds onto us. Blessings!
Hi Mary! I just love that image. It’s so beautiful and encouraging. Thank you for your good wishes for everyone here. My word for the year is ‘surrender’, and this fits in perfectly.
I hope you are having a blessed Sunday,
Ceil
I’m so glad! Giving in to God and letting Him lead will in turn provide us the rest we so desperately need! I loved your post on Starting Over and I thought I had left a comment but I wasn’t seeing it! I do understand boys, especially 9 year olds as a teacher and then also because I have two sons! Have a wonderful week!
I am thankful for times of rest. Even in my busyness, with so much going on, my Spirit Man can be in a place of rest. Thanks for sharing! Have a blessed week.
Rest is the fuel needed to make it through another day but rest in God is our fuel for life! Have a blessed week!
I hate the whole insomnia thing! My strategy is to use the time to pray for people that God brings to my mind. Often times, I fall back asleep while whispering prayers.
Anita- I agree that insomnia can be consuming but praying is always the best way to find sweet slumber for the rest of the night. Sunday blessings!
What a precious reminder of the quiet beauty of surrender. His Word reminds us that we will rest and sleep in sweet peace when our mind is stayed upon Him. I need to remember that in the moments when I let life steal the peace that has already been given to me.
Bless you!
Dawn
God’s reminders fill our days if we only open ourselves to His whispers. Blessed you stopped by! May your Sunday and week be beautiful!
A powerful passage, a sweet image …
twinkle, twinkle!
Hugs.
Sunday blessings, my friend! I am thanking God for the gift of you tonight!
