Anticipation is building (look through the eyes of a young child and it is palpable)
The babe is coming
Excitement hovers on the fringes of your days and fills your whitespace with its rapid heartbeat
The babe is coming
You begin the process of opening your heart wide to receive the promises of a newborn child
The babe is coming
Joy flows freely and you reach high and wide to circle it in your embrace
The babe, the Son of Mary
Mary, a young teenage girl, was chosen by God. He sent the angel Gabriel to bring her this message “you have found favor with God” and her world changed forever.
We also have found favor with God and it all started one winter night when one birth took place in a manger. The trajectory of our world changed forever. God found favor in the form of His own son that we might know life and His son, Jesus. God sent Jesus to us as a baby in a manger to show us what the love of a father for his children looks like. God’s favor rests on each of us as He lovingly chose us to live a life for Him and His glory. God’s favor is found in the gift of His son Jesus. We manifest this gift in the way we choose to live our lives.
The babe, the son of Mary is coming and our lives will never be the same. Accept the gift, embrace the joy, live your life with the anticipation of what is yet to come and allow God to shower you with His favor by living for Him.
[Tweet “God’s favor is poured out for all through the birth of His son Jesus.”]
With hearts open and ready to receive, may we all embrace the joy of Jesus’ birth in our lives. May the embrace become our acceptance and call to live fully for God in all we do.

What a lovely post. Admittedly, I’ve had a frustrating day, but there is so much peace here in your words. Thank you for that. I’m glad you shared for #ThreeWordWednesday.
Thank you for saying that! Yesterday was frustrating for me and sometimes I need to be reminded of my own words or someone else’s to find peace too. I love that you are continuing Three Word Wednesday and I love the community there. Have a blessed Christmas!
I’m embracing the gift today, Mary. Thank you for the reminder to slow down and ponder and wonder and be filled with awe.
I pray we may all embrace the gift everyday and not just in this season of preparation for Jesus’ birth. May you and your family have a blessed Christmas!
Beautiful, Mary. And now may our hearts prepare Him room. And let heaven and nature sing salvation songs loud and clear.
Christmas blessings, sweet friend …
Great song and beautiful words to center us for this final week before Christmas. Christmas blessings to you and your family too.
Beautiful post, Mary! Loved this –> “The babe, the son of Mary is coming and our lives will never be the same.” So grateful He changed my life! Blessings! xo
I am amazed often that God chooses us and displayed this starting with sending Jesus to earth to save us all. My heart fills each time I am reminded that one birth, one night, many years ago was the beginning of the lives of all of us. Christmas blessings, Joanne!
Beautiful words Mary!
Looking forward to seeing “Awaited” tomorrow night, the 18th. I will look for you!
Thank you Karen! May the one little babe born years ago enter all our lives with joy and thanksgiving that we are free! Christmas blessings and I look forward to seeing you too!
What I love is how there is always more God is revealing to me through His Word. Through stories like the birth of His son where He’s not done teaching me something. Showing me something. And using the words of another to encourage my heart. You can never tire of His Word, of His promises of His truths. I got a few goosebumps from this post, Mary. “The babe is coming…” My life has never been the same since accepting His gift.
Love you and so blessed by your friendship.
xoxo
God shows up big in the Words that He breathes into our lives. The stories of His life reach far into impacting our lives. I do never tire of His promises and soak in knowing that He is so good and always with us. The Christmas story has been speaking loudly to me this year as I open my heart to learning what Jesus’ birth is all about. Blessed you feel God’s presence greatly in your life and love having you here. Christmas blessings and much love!
Thanks for this reminder, dear friend. It’s so easy to forget the importance of this season in all the busyness. And that distresses my soul. Appreciate the opportunity to sit in this reminder for a few minutes this morning. Love you!
It is so easy to feel stress and distress over all that needs to be accomplished. I keep feeling that next year will feel so different for me because I won’t be working full time and I can sit in God’s word to soak in the season. Love you too friend!
Beautiful, Mary. I have been reading through the first chapter of Luke, just 8 verses or so each day, and it’s amazing how God speaks to us through these old, familiar passages. Yes, I want to accept the gift and embrace the joy.
Blessed that you stopped by today. God’s familiar words are washed new when we look at His words with fresh eyes. Have a blessed Christmas!
May we all have Mary’s faith and bravery to say “yes” – to believe we, too, are favored and step boldly into whatever God’s calling us to do!
What a beautiful prayer, Kathryn. I believe saying “yes” can be one of the hardest things we do by also one that will bring rich rewards. I always love seeing you here! Christmas blessings!
