And so – we write for five minutes, our words tumbling out – no editing, no polishing – just flat out on a one word prompt! We gather all our beautiful thoughts here in our Five Minute Friday community and then love on each other as only we can do! Click here to learn all about it.
Home is where the Five Minute Friday community gathers so please join us at Kate Motaung’s for our Friday fun!
TEN
GO…
The Ten Things I Love the Most
1. Quiet mornings, soaking in the Word with the day stretched ahead of me
2. My two sons who teach me, love me and come alongside me just when I need it most
3. My family who shows me again and again what love is all about
4. The morning streaks of the sun waking up the sky and the last light before night officially falls into slumber
5. Coffee, coffee and more coffee 🙂
6. Friends who know me better than I know myself sometimes and aren’t afraid to walk with me in my messy brokenness
7. Words of encouragement and grace that are freely given and well-received
8. Long walks listening to God whispers in the beauty and in the quiet
9. Time spent in real life with the people I love the most. #fmfparty tweeps that means all of you too! Think retreat in two weeks.
10. Knowing that I am loved immensely by my Heavenly Father who grants new mercies when I get it wrong and plans a beautiful life for me.
This is the reason we are here and why we live as children of God.
… But you are a forgiving God, gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and abounding in love. Nehemiah 9:17
[Tweet “A list of ten is just the beginning of all the precious gifts we have received from God.”]
May we all look to the reasons we are here and give thanks daily, turning to the One who has given us the riches of Heaven as our precious gift.
In grace and peace,
Mary

I’ve read two posts so far and see the list of ten is trending! #51 at FMF!!!
It seemed to be the logical thing to do last night when Kate gave us the prompt. So glad you stopped here today and I’m headed over to your place now. Happy weekend!
I love it; practicing having a heart of gratitude!
May we all practice thanking God daily for all our blessings! Thank you for being her today!
A very cool Top 10 list, my friend! May it usher you right into a very luscious weekend …
Hugs for ya’!
So sweet! Thank you for taking time to bless me today as you continue to learn a new normal. You are such a treasure. Weekend blessings to you!
Many of these would be at the top of my list too. He gives so many precious gifts. You are a gift. Happy Friday. Love you. xoxo
Thank you for the gift of your friendship and the fact that we know each other well considering it is only through the Interwebs right now. I am blessed by you and all the precious gifts that God shares with me daily. Happy weekend!
Love #6! As I get older, I have come to appreciate friends who will tell me the truth even when it may not be what I want to hear, but what I need to hear.
and of course #10… we can never appreciate what God has done and continues to do for us!!
Amen! God is the thread that pulls my top ten together. It is because of Him that we have so many gifts that we can thank Him for. I’m so glad you stopped by here today and I’m praying your weekend is blessed.
Beautiful, Mary! I wasn’t able to write a Five Minute Friday post this week, but I’m happy to read yours! It makes gratitude well up inside me! Much love to you. #DanceWithJesus
I am so glad that this led you to your own gratitude. My heart fills when I look back at my day and remember all the good things about it rather than focusing on the things that went wrong. I have counted my blessings daily with Ann Voskamp and would tweet them each evening and since then I have gotten away from it. This post has helped me to be thinking in that direction again. Have a blessed weekend. Praying for your family especially your husband and his mom.
I love #1 too!! Wishing I had more quiet days to start out that way…and that some of them could be spent with you too. xoxo
Just think – we will be able to spend some quiet time together real soon!!! So glad that we are blessed to call each other friends and are part of this wonderful community.
such a lovely post.
Thank you Denise! May we all look outward in gratitude for the precious gifts that we have received from God.
Mary, love love your list!! #4 is one of my faves too! I’m parked in the number 10 spot this week.
Thank you Tara! There is nothing like the sunrises and sunsets of our days, right??? So glad to see you here today. Headed to your place now.
Isn’t spending the morning with God the best?! It sets the whole day up for receiving his strength and seeing all that is good! Praying you have fun at the retreat!!
Thank you sweet Marisa! I love starting my day giving my day to God rather than holding on so tight that I make myself crazy even before the day has begun. That time of stillness and centering makes my day and when I am rushed and miss this time it throws me off the rest of the day. So glad you are here and would love for you to pray for all going to the retreat that God provides them exactly what they need.
Love this! I am sitting here thinking on what to write about for my “ten”.
I hope you came up with an idea to write about for FMF. I love seeing you pop up here in my comments! Hope your day is blessed!
Gratitude is so powerful. Just reading your list made me feel more thankful and lighter in spirit. I especially love #6- And number five, of course. Great post! Have a great Friday!
Gratitude is powerful and I find that I am much happier when I stop to remember all the good that has happened each day. Just think how pleased God is when He hears the words “thank you” from our lips! Have a blessed weekend!
Ah, Mary. Your gratitude list here is so good. It moves me to begin thinking of the things I am thankful for – which always moves me to worship the Lord. Thank you for sharing and for giving me that prompting!
Let us both worship the Lord today and give thanks for our top ten that reaches beyond all measure! So good to be able to hang out for awhile last night. Praying your weekend is blessed!
Love your heart, Mary, and love getting to know you a bit better through this post. Can’t WAIT to meet in just two short weeks!!
Thank you sweet Kate! Meeting in real life is going to be so amazing. We are blessed to be able to have this retreat. Happy weekend and happy Friday!
