TOMORROW
GO…
My tomorrow comes on June 5, 2015. I am ending a beautiful journey and beginning anew. Each day from now until then is a sweet gift of memories, love notes from kids, precious real life interactions and bittersweet emotions full of goodbyes and so much promise.
I have been on an amazing journey for 30 years as the teacher of hundreds of kids. If you have been hanging around here at all lately you will know that my heart is full and my journey is ending as retirement is but 34 teaching days away. All I can think about is the tomorrow that will come – the tomorrow that is God’s gift – the tomorrow that brings me to an end but a glorious new beginning. Each day is a snapshot of students, teachers, and so many memories that are being tucked away for those days that need a little sunshine and joy. Each day is one step closer to the tomorrow that God promises each of us.
[Tweet “God’s tomorrow is the gift of a new day that wakes you up each morning.”]
What will your tomorrow look like? How will you use the gift that God gives so lovingly? Will your tomorrow be your best day yet?
Each question, each answer, each next step is one step closer to the tomorrow that God has planned for each of you. Nervousness, excitement, sadness and courage fill my every emotion as I look to my own tomorrow and the gifts that God has waiting for me.
Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own. Matthew 6:34
Blessings.
Mary

It must be pretty exciting anticipating your new “tomorrow”. After 30+ years of teaching! Wow! Can’t wait to meet you and others at the #fmfretreat
It is so exciting, Susan! Just think of all the God possibilities! I am excited that I will meet you at the retreat and I pray God blesses your weekend.
Mary, great post! Those treasures from your students are such precious gifts. I have gotten those from Sunday School kids etc too. I treasure them each so. That Matthew verse is such a great verse. So much comfort there. Blessings during this last month of teaching.
There is nothing like the honesty, joy and love of children. I have been blessed for 30 years that I have so many blessings to remember and thank God for. So glad you were here to encourage me. Blessings for a beautiful weekend!
So exciting to be nearing the final month of teaching! WOW! That is a career that impacts so many including you! 🙂 I’m a speech therapist, and I only made it in the public school setting for two years…my dream job out of college…reshaped into working in many different settings with clients young and old. I’m thankful for the opportunity to teach too! I work part time, and I SO appreciate the teachers our sons have had and have presently. It SO matters. Look forward to meeting you…are you going on the FMF retreat? I signed up last night! 🙂 jenn Cook
Well I will definitely be at the retreat because I am one of the hosts! 🙂 I am so excited for you that you will be there. Can’t wait to meet you!
I love your heart for working with people young and old and your work is important and does make a difference too. Thank you for the encouragement and chance to “meet” you online. In August it will be the real deal! Happy Weekend!
He has our tomorrows in His hands. What a relief that is.
Now we can focus on doing today well. Praying for you as I visit here …
Weekend hugs for you, friend! And enjoy working on the retreat. Sounds like such fun …
I cherish your prayers. So many emotions are swirling and so much to reflect on for those last few days. Always blessed when you stop by.
Greater victories and Giant steps ahead!
I am very happy for you.
Remain Blessed
What a great thought-greater victories, giant steps ahead. Thank you for blessing me with your encouragement. Happy weekend to you!
Enjoy your last days of teaching, Mary! And enjoy the tomorrow God is giving you! I love the question, “How will you use the gift of tomorrow that God so lovingly gives?” Glad to be #fmfparty sisters with you!
Thank you Betsy! The best part is the tomorrow-the amazing next steps that God will provide and the joy of being able to take those next steps. There will be a lot of reflecting on the questions I asked. They are not easy ones to answer. Love being your #fmfparty sister too. Have a blessed weekend!
God bless you today .
Thank you Jedidja! May God shower blessings on you and your family.
I’m so excited for you my friend. Enjoy these last days of teaching. You have some beautiful memories to take with you into your tomorrow.
I’m excited too and love your encouragement and friendship. Thank you for blessing me by stopping by here. Love you friend!
Praying God will bless you as you enter His plan for your tomorrow. I’m finishing my 29th year of teaching, and have a few left before I retire, unless God’s plan for my tomorrow is different!
Congrats on 29 years of teaching. It is quite an accomplishment. I love that we are teaching in common. What a blessing you are to your students and what amazing journey we are on. Blessed you stopped by and hope you have a wonderful weekend!
Your tomorrows are going to be awesome, Mary! Praying for you to live fully in every moment from now until June 5th. Savor all of it, friend. Those memories will sustain you for a long time. Can’t wait to see what God has next for you! xoxo
I am working toward taking those snapshots in my mind of my students, there funny sayings and of course their love. Every day brings me closer to the end which is bittersweet but also so exciting. I appreciate you and your friendship and know that new memories will be made as God asks me to follow what’s next. Have a blessed weekend.
This is so sweet! I don’t think I have ever followed you before so I haven’t been around! It is funny because some kids don’t remember their teachers while others do. I remember every teacher I ever had and I have special and no so special memories from each class. My JK and SK teacher had taught my aunts and my cousins and had 30 years under her belt when I had her, and then she retired when my brother was in about grade 4. She ended up substituting for years after and when my own daughter was in JK she happened to be her substitute and when we picked my daughter up at the end of the day she said “you have no idea how many times I said “Marisa” instead of “Lila” to her and every single time she said “MY NAME IS LILA, JUST LILA!!” Know that there are many students who will always have fond memories of you and that you have impacted sooo many lives in your career! Not many can say that! Praying the transition is easy for you and that you are left with many memories and blessings of years long past!
Thank you for your encouragement and reminders that I do have many memories and running into former students is always a blessing. Though my emotions are bittersweet, God has new plans, great plans for me and that is very exciting. I am so glad you were my FMF neighbor and am blessed to be part of such a beautiful community. Blessings!
What a bitter sweet time this must be for you! I can’t imagime what a transition this is going to be, very exciting. Each new season holds beauty of its own.
Love from

Thank you for the reminder that each new season holds a beauty of its own. Your words help soothe the emotions that are working overtime. So blessed you stopped by. Have a blessed weekend!
Heartfelt congratulations on your teaching career, Mary. That’s a tough job, one that I have no doubt you did with honor. May God grant you peace as you step into tomorrow!
Your sweet words are ones that keep me going as I imagine the ending but cannot clearly see the new beginning. I am blessed we are in #fmf community together and pray that God grows in and through us. Have a blessed weekend!
