As I was writing this week’s Move Over Monday post, I realized that I had more to say. The quick glimpse that I shared in Move Over Monday-Please??? was not complete. I shared three tips that I use but in reality the last word that needs to be written is God’s word. Today I hope that this perspective honors God’s word and what He needed to say.
Sundays – slow down life, take it easy kind of days
…A day of rest
…A day of quiet reflection
…Worship-filled moments in church or in the quiet of your home
…Community, time with family
Monday dawns!!!
…alarms ring
…schedules kick into high gear
…a new week begins full throttle
How do you keep that Sunday feeling when Monday dawns?
The peaceful feeling that you basked in on Sunday, now seems to have flown away. The community of people that surrounded you have scattered to begin their own busy weeks. Your quiet time with God doesn’t seem to quite fit into your Monday morning routine. Rest assured all of the moments you felt on Sunday are right there at your fingertips. Your focus has been shifted to the busyness of your life. God is patiently waiting for you to turn even for a second in His direction. He is ready to assure you that He is all you need as you begin your week.
Take a minute, remember Sunday and ask yourself what you want from your week. As you answer this question for yourself, look at where God fits into this plan. Reflect on these words from Ann Voskamp: “Am I living God’s best for this life or am I bankrupting any legacy of faith? What misery lurks in the next twenty-four hours and the next? Stress can be an addiction and worry can be our lunge for control and we forget the answer to this moment.” Beautiful words that search deeper for what it is that we actually want and where we want to focus our time.
6 So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live your lives in him, 7 rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness… and in Christ you have been brought to fullness. Colossians 2:6-7, 10
Jesus is all we need! The scripture above confirms that and God will confirm that in our quiet time if we just listen. Sunday peace does not need to turn into Monday mayhem. Turn to God and let Him direct and put His hands on your week. Allow His love to fill you and His word to lead you.
Blessings to all for a Sunday peace to pour into you this week!

Blessed to be linking with these wonderful blogs!
What a great way to look at it, Mary. Monday’s do tend to be crazy and work focused rather than God and rest focused. I guess that’s why it feels so crazy! Love that Ann Voskamp quote too. Great thoughts, my friend!
Thank you so much for the blessing of your encouragement! Happy weekend to you!
