It’s Five Minute Friday and I am joining Lisa-Jo Baker and other FMF girls to write flat out for five minutes. No editing, no polishing, and then linking up together. This is my second time taking the plunge into a “quick” write on one word. Can I just say that 5 minutes flies by!!! Here goes!

It’s the end of a long day of teaching and I drag myself to the car to drive home. Once I’m home, my feet lead me straight to my bedroom where my favorites yoga pants and comfy slippers wait. I slip them on and I immediately exhale a huge sigh as stress is released from every part of my body. The warmth, comfort and security of my favorite clothes wraps around me like a thick cloud of protection.

Friends do the same – wrap their arms around tight when you need a hug, provide the warmth of love, fit perfectly because they know you so well and provide the comfort that allows a deep exhale where all stress flees our bodies.

Friends are like my favorite things- a mug of coffee, yoga pants and especially comfy slippers.

Friendship is like being wrapped up in out favorite things!

All make me smile broadly, bring me delight and a feeling of security and coziness. The warmth of friends happens through uncontrollable laughter, a listening ear or just silence because they get it and you!

Friends are my favorite things wrapped around me  – ready to come to the rescue!

Friends are treasures graciously given to us by God – all wrapped up in different sizes, colors and shapes.

Today I am thankful for friends and I pray for all that we treasure our friends and remind them often what a gift they are to us.
